IOSH Accredited Courses
ACS are approved Institution of Occupational
Safety and Health (IOSH) training providers and are able
to provide both the IOSH Working Safely and IOSH Managing
Safely courses.
IOSH Working Safely
This one day course benefits
every employee within an organisation and focuses on providing
training for them to ensure that their individual and
collective actions contribute to Health and Safety within
the workplace.
On successful completion of the course delegates should
be able to:
- Identify the hazards and evaluate the risks in their
workplace
- Use appropriate workplace precautions for specific
risks or seek advice on workplace precautions
- Assist managers in preparing written risk assessments
- Follow their organisation's health and safety policy
- Co-operate and communicate on safety matters
- Carry out work activities without risk to themselves
or others
- Report relevant accidents and incidents
- Monitor their own activities and assist managers in
active monitoring
An official IOSH certificate is issued on successful
completion of this course.
IOSH Managing Safely
This five day course is designed
for those required to manage resources safely and effectively
to ensure compliance with both the organisation's policy
and practice in health and safety.
The course can be delivered as a five day block or five
separate sessions of one day spread over a period to suit
the needs of the client.
The main objectives of the course are as follows:
- To apply basic management principles and practices
to health & safety issues as part of a total management
strategy
- Set, plan and implement health & safety objectives
- Identify health & safety hazards and types of
control measures needed
- Investigate an accident and take appropriate remedial
action
- Communicate effectively with their superiors, peers
and subordinates
- Identify the main legal responsibilities of employers
and managers and act so as to fulfill them
An official IOSH certificate is issued on successful
completion of this course.
