IPPC
| The IPPC (Integrated
Pollution, Prevention and Control) Directive is being
introduced across Europe to improve environmental
protection standards. It will be fully implemented
in all European Union Member states by October 2007.
The Directive aims to achieve integrated prevention
and control of pollution arising from a range of activities.
It lays down measures designed to prevent, or where
that is not practical, reduce emissions to air, land
and water from activities. |

ACS offer a
comprehensive service to assist organisations to meet
the regulatory requirements of IPPC sites. The regulators
set permit conditions so as to achieve a high level of
protection for the environment as a whole. Initially,
ACS technical staff will carry out monitoring programmes,
prepare 'Best Available Technique' studies and set up
systems and policy documents to achieve an IPPC permit.
Once IPPC approval has been granted, ACS staff are able
to provide continuing technical support, for example:
emissions monitoring to ensure that the organisation continues
to remain within the limits set by the permit.
