Process Emissions
Monitoring
Process Emissions
Monitoring is most commonly carried out for organisations
who are a SEPA or EA governed Authorised site. Primarily,
the monitoring is carried out to ensure that the organisation
is complying with the strict regulations of the authorisation
process, but can also be useful for other purposes such
as planning considerations.
ACS staff are able to undertake Process
Emissions Monitoring for a variety of solvents, dusts
and gases. Initially, the measuring programme involves
measurements being taken from within ducts, vents and/or
chimneys within the site. The measurement levels are then
compared within the relevant guidelines specific to the
emission. Upon completion of the site work, a full written
report is produced providing details on the results from
the measuring programme and, where applicable, suggested
engineering solutions and best available techniques to
control the emissions.
Air Quality
Monitoring
Air Quality
Monitoring is most commonly carried out to satisfy local
planning conditions or to ensure that an organisation
complies with the conditions of specific regulatory Authorisations.
Primarily, the process is undertaken to monitor and measure
the quality of the air at ground level in the external
environment. Typically, this is carried out at the site
boundary, to ensure that a factory is not exceeding the
regulatory limits for spreading emissions into the atmosphere
which could cause harm or offence to local residents or
the local environment.
The level of the contaminant
is measured and then compared to its relevant guidelines
and applicable limits. Upon completion of the site work,
a full written report is produced providing details on
the results from the measuring programme and where applicable,
suggested engineering solutions and best available techniques
to control the emissions.
