Training for Asbestos
Licensed Companies

ACS are members of the Asbestos Training Providers Association and provide courses for all levels of personnel within companies holding an asbestos licence. All courses for Asbestos Licensed Contractors are provided by Gerry Campbell. Gerry has over 30 years experience in training and project supervision in the construction and asbestos industries. All of these courses are run on a regular basis at our Head Office in Glasgow or alternatively are available in-house.

New Operative (3 days)

This 3 day course is designed for individuals who wish to join the licensed asbestos industry at operative level. The course combines a mixture of classroom and practical training methods. Days 1 and 2 of the course concentrate on the theoretical knowledge that is required for the job while day 3 transfers this knowledge into a practical demonstrations and assessments which each individual must complete. Delegates must successfully pass a multiple choice written examination on completion of the course.


Asbestos Operative and Supervisor, Refresher (1 day)

Both of these 1 day courses are designed for personnel who currently work at asbestos operative or supervisor level. Under Regulation 9 of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations (CAWR) 2002, it is now mandatory for asbestos removal operatives to receive refresher training on an annual basis. Both of these courses satisfy this regulation. The course itself updates personnel on changes in legislation or work methods and ensures that all decontamination and RPE procedures are strictly followed. Delegates must successfully pass a multiple choice written examination on completion of the course.

Scaffolders (1 day)

ACS provide a 1 day course specifically designed for Scaffolding Asbestos Licence holders. This course covers all relevant legislative requirements, work methods, decontamination and safety procedures. Delegates must successfully pass a written examination on completion of the course.
